What We Stand For
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the sole authority for all matters of faith and life. We preach and teach it faithfully every week.
Salvation is entirely God's work, given freely by grace for Christ's sake. This is the liberating message at the center of everything we do.
We receive forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ — not through our works or merit. This is the gospel we proclaim to our community.
We subscribe to the historic Lutheran Confessions in the Book of Concord, which faithfully summarize the teaching of Holy Scripture.
Over 75 years of ministry in Grande Prairie. We serve our neighbours — through care home worship, Christian fellowship, and mutual care.
From children in Sunday School to seniors in care homes, we are a multigenerational family shaped by the Word and united at the Lord's Table.

Our Story & Beliefs
A congregation of Lutheran Church Canada, rooted in Scripture and the historic Lutheran Confessions, serving Grande Prairie for over 75 years.
Our History
Faith Lutheran Church has been a presence in Grande Prairie for over 75 years. Through decades of growth, change, and challenge, we have remained anchored in the unchanging Word of God.
We are a member congregation of Lutheran Church Canada — a church body committed to biblical teaching and the Lutheran Confessions as found in the Book of Concord.
Our congregation has been shaped by faithful pastors, dedicated lay people, and generations of families who have passed the faith on to their children. We are grateful for this heritage and eager to carry it forward.
Our Leadership
Pastor Ventura serves the congregation of Faith Lutheran Church. For pastoral inquiries, baptismal requests, or prayer, please reach the church office at (780) 532-7612 or [email protected].
Our Confession
As a Lutheran congregation, our doctrine is drawn from Holy Scripture and summarized in the historic Lutheran Confessions found in the Book of Concord.
The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and the only rule and norm by which all doctrine and teachers are to be judged.
We are justified before God solely on account of the obedience and merit of Christ, received through faith — not through our own works or worthiness.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as confessed in the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.
Baptism is a means of grace through which God works forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe.
In the Sacrament of the Altar, Christ's body and blood are truly present with the bread and wine, given and shed for the forgiveness of sins.
We subscribe to all the documents of the Lutheran Confessions as a faithful summary of Scripture, including the Augsburg Confession and Luther's Small and Large Catechisms.
"The Book of Concord should be in every Lutheran home… The Lord doesn't want us to remain children, blown to and fro by every wind of doctrine; instead He wants us to grow in knowledge so that we can teach others."

For All Ages
Sunday School runs September through May on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM, helping nourish the spiritual growth of children through Bible stories, activities, and song.
In the summer, we offer a week-long Vacation Bible School (VBS) program — a beloved highlight for children in our congregation and community.
We offer a two-year Confirmation program for students in grades 7 and 8. Students are grounded in Lutheran doctrine, the Small Catechism, and a life of faith as they prepare to affirm their baptism.
For more information, please speak to Pastor Ventura or contact the church office.
Our Wednesday Evening Bible Study meets weekly at 7:00 PM. Join us in person at the church, connect via Google Meet, or tune in on Facebook. All are welcome to dig into God's Word with us.
The women of Faith Lutheran meet weekly for Bible study on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 PM. The women's group also prepares lunches for funerals and organizes the beloved Annual Mother-Daughter Banquet.
Faith Lutheran participates in the GP Ministerial Association's rotation to bring worship services into care homes throughout Grande Prairie. We are always looking for volunteers to join the pastor to sing hymns and share God's Word with the seniors of our community.
Our annual week-long summer VBS is a highlight of the year — full of music, Bible stories, crafts, and fun. Open to children in the Grande Prairie area.
Registration opens in spring. Watch our website for dates and details.
